Use Your Time Wisely

If you want your small business to excel, you’ve only got seven days a week to make it happen. Use that time wisely. Remember, while your competitors are at the BBQ, fishing up at the lake, or attending their kids’ softball game, you are putting in the hours necessary to build the business and make profits. When you started your business, that’s what you signed on for.

I have always agreed with this but what I am concerned with is that humans need some R&R and separation or downtime from their business, because not all people can psychologically deal with workaholism. You become your business and lose creative ideas provided by life experience and raw chance. You start to lose yourself and you can go mad. There is something to be said about some degree of balance. That may not be goofing around on the golf course, but it may be off time reading at the library, taking up some hobbies, learning a language, or socializing in an atmosphere of creative worthwhile people with ideas. Something to separate your mind from the same repetitive thing.
